It was great to hear a presenter speaking about executive functioning and giving real practical ways to work with struggling students. All too often I sit in sessions that simply go over theory and diagnostic criteria.

Team members are raving about the session. You were such a positive addition to our professional development sessions.

We aren’t sure what we would have done without Lisa’s help. She was the first to encourage us to get a formal evaluation done. She was able to predict what might turn up even before the results were in. We were thrilled that she had already been implementing many of the strategies which were recommended. She even gave us specific recommendations and ideas to bring to the school. She is very skilled at finding the causes of academic problems and finding/teaching strategies to address them.

I attended a parent seminar Lisa gave. I was so excited about what I had learned … Finally! Someone who knew exactly what was going on with our children and could not only help identify it, but truly understood the nature of the problems and could give very specific ways to help address them. We are very new to working with Lisa. Her patience and accessibility have been fantastic. We are so excited and hopeful for this next phase of our children’s lives.
Lisa’s help has been invaluable transitioning my son from middle school to high school. He has learned how to approach academic challenges with skills she has taught him. His stress level has markedly improved…and so has mine, thanks to Lisa! I can’t say enough good things about her.
We have been very fortunate to have Mrs. Marsicano tutor our son. She started tutoring with him a few years ago and this has helped open the door for academic success for him ever since. She made our son realize he is not alone with his ADD or Executive Function Disorder. Lisa Marsicano brings valuable and educated tools and resources to you and your child. She shows you that there are real solutions to help your child get organized and learn special techniques for creating a successful journey through school. When a child feels that he/she can succeed in school and understands they are not at fault or “lazy or stupid,” it truly carries out through their personal and social life with their friends and family. It takes down all the barriers and stigma that child has been feeling about “being different”. Mrs. Marsicano has done just that with our son. He is now at an academically demanding high school and he actually feels good about himself, he feels like a success. I can’t even imagine how bad things would have turned out if we stayed with other tutors who are not educated in these areas and couldn’t show him the techniques needed to learn with his disabilities. Lisa Marsicano has been a saving grace for our son.
You know that you have chosen the right person to work with your child when they ask you, “When am I meeting with Lisa next?” Lisa entered our lives at a very important time… the beginning of high school. She has gained the trust of our fourteen year old son and been instrumental in helping him make the transition to high school. Her ability to relate to students is key as she quickly gains their trust and respect which translates into a successful working relationship. She also gains the trust and respect of parents. Lisa has provided us with invaluable information and has helped guide us as we continue to help meet the needs of our children. She is a dedicated professional who is making a difference for many students and families. With her expertise in executive functioning, Lisa has been able identify some of the underlying reasons for difficulties and address those challenges with specific strategies. She has done a terrific job at helping our son see “the big picture” in a high school setting. She has also helped him learn how to successfully break down the information in order to manage all of his classes. I can’t imagine what this important year would have been like without Lisa. We are very thankful to have her in our lives.

What I realized is this process we did with writing not only helped my writing get better but also helped my debating. I feel it’s helped a lot already.
